Christmas dress - Old Singer Sewing Machine 64cmx64cmx5cm(D)

The inspiration for this work was that every year on our farm, my mum used to make me a Christmas dress. It was so special and so exciting.  I can remember standing next to her while she sewed on her old singer sewing machine. I could smell the warm oil and hear the hum as she made her way along each seam. It was sewn with love and I couldn’t wait to wear it. It was our country tradition all made in that warm hub of the home  

I so hope this work brings back those beautiful memories for you too
