Top End 156cm x 65cm
This work was inspired by a trip to Top End of Australia. With its curved horizon of the Timor Sea and the beautiful Kakadu National Park.
I took poetic license and added the beautiful red soil of my home farm Wylgamere near Burcher in NSW. Mana Mountain is curved near the tall gumtrees and a mallee. A person can be seen sitting quietly under a tree - waiting patiently, something I did when we drove sheep in the warmth of the sun during the day.
There river represents the flooding when the drought broke and there is a group on the bottom left - represents family and community.
This is a painting dear to my heart.
Gentle words are written on the canvas before I started painting. I do this with all my works.
You’re loved, you’re respected, you’re beautiful, you’re worthy and you are valued. x
