Safe harbour dreams 112cmx92cm
Inspired by a friend who traveled the world alone in his amazing yacht. He climbed the mast on his own to fix the navigation apparatus while his family at home knew nothing of it. While they waited.
I imagined him eventually finding this safe cove hidden just around a point that magically appeared!
This is my interpretation of a yacht finding a safe harbour to rest. Of a man who needed adventure and that adrenaline rush. Of a kind and gentle man who can now say ‘I did it, I am now home in my safest harbour’!
This work has a freedom of expression which I enjoyed immensely. It is full of mossy rocks, gorgeous colours and tranquil waters.
Mixed media on canvas - wash, acrylic, charcoal and inks. Primarily three colours plus white.
