Maree McCrum Artworks
Come, let the adventure begin
Welcome, it's so nice you are here
Thanks for finding your way here and taking the time to settle in and look around.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Maree (that's a picture of me) and I live in Wagga Wagga in rural NSW. I'm a bit of an artistic soul who enjoys connecting with people and I love painting their feelings.
I have always loved to paint, my mother dabbled in oils and I marvelled at her patience and accuracy in creating landscapes. Everything was very realistic and just fabulous.
For me colour is everything and I think that might come from my passion for gardening. Flowers and perfume, textures and beautiful colours. As with life, nothing is perfect and so abstract art is a wonderful fit for me. It just sings. In my large mixed media you will find my signature of sheet music hiding there as I do love to sing. Under the layers of paint are positive words. A little trivia, I write and sing songs too, but that's another story.
Come on, let me take your hand and show you around ~
Art on the Kitchen Table Collection
25% off ending 31st December 2024
This collection came to be when old friends visited and we gathered around our kitchen table. We laughed and reminisced, shared news and shared sorrows. We talked of love, relationships and what's new on our menus at home and the latest places to dine out. We all remembered that life is not perfect but it's what we make of it.
I remember my childhood and our family gatherings and meals around our kitchen table and enjoying mum's homemade cooking, jams and cakes. I also remember drawing and creating there on our kitchen table. We would all weed the front garden together which was full of flowers in the spring. Mum loved her front garden!
This collection is all about that ~ quirky imperfect works all sitting on our kitchen table, your kitchen table. And artworks full of flowers. I so hope this reminds you of wonderful memories around your own kitchen table and that of special friends.
Sunshiny day - full of colour and love
I like to call this series that I'm working on now the Tapestry series. In early 2022 I experienced a frightening occurance of not being able to see properly after eye surgery. It was a very long 5 months of no painting or reading and no driving. However, I did recover and with that these new shades of pinks and greens emerged - my life has certainly been a tapestry.
I'm not sure how long this series will go for, but for now it's freeing, it's uplifting and full of light and happiness.
Please contact me directly on 0428 75286 if you would like a painting in this series - I do personalise the work by adding special words and drawings etched into and under the layers of paint to make it very uniquely yours.
I so hope your days are beautiful sunshiny days ~ talk soon

When someone is truly generous and thank you is not nearly enough!
You know that feeling when someone totally out of the blue does something amazing that shows their kindness. How on earth do you say thank you? With a very personal little framed memory which is painted just for them!
Imagine if you loved little blue wrens but not bright colours?
Don't worry it's ok. All the layers of bright colours can be carefully hidden under shades of grey! Do you know what else is hidden under there - words scratched into the thick layers of acrylic paint, special words and images. They can only be seen when you look closely as the light reflects on them.
Fantasy Villages and commissions
Oh my goodness - these little streets have little meaningful memories hidden in them. Warm fuzzy feelings. They can be your memories if you like, or you can have a look at some ready to hang ones. Did you ever imagine living under a giant toadstool, saving the whales or even flying on the high trapeze? Let your imagination take you away.... or Rapunzel in your castle...
The Little Blue House Collection
Welcome to a very special place in my heart. This painting is part of The Little Blue House Collection. The Little Blue House is non gender specific as it was inspired by my children Ben and Lucy. It depicts the wonderful and sometimes challenging times of their lives. Some of their experiences are felt by this little house.
They may live far away, however they are right there at the tip of my paintbrush everyday.
Watercolours are used on quality acid free paper. They come framed and ready to hang or stand on a shelf. Commissions are welcome.
If the painting you like is sold, please reach out to discuss a personal commission at the same price as listed. All paintings are originals.
Our special memories
"Looks great on the wall, and I have found so many memories - snake, golf sticks, putting green, gig and colours, pub, Whistle Stop. footy goals. farm name, header, silos and there's so many more I haven't found yet. Love it!"
Fantasy Villages commissions are full of wonderful personal memories and create a true conversation piece. This commission was custom framed and it's size is 120cm x 900cm. (it nearly didn't fit in the car haha!). All sizes are available from small to extra large. If you decided on a very large painting, the canvas can be shipped rolled in a cylinder all ready for you to take to your framer to be framed.
Thank you for entrusting me with your vision.
